2019-nCoV, a new strain of coronavirus detected in china’s Wuhan province is causing alarm across the globe. More than 200 people have been infected so far. The virus gets transmitted by human-animal contact and human-human contact. The virus makes people sick, usually with a mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illness. It can cause serious respiratory tract issues for people with a weakened immune system.
WHO will convene an emergency committee on Jan 22 to ascertain whether the virus constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.
