A BLOODY DAY FOR MYANMAR

After weeks of peaceful protests against the ruling military, Myanmar’s pro-government protesters faced a violent crackdown on Saturday. The police operation was expanded on Sunday. Around 18 death has been reported so far.

Myanmar’s elected government was overthrown in a military coup on February 1. From then on Myanmar has been facing internal conflicts. But a violent crackdown of this scale happened for the first time.
